AT High Speed Technologies Inc. We Make Your Problem Our Problem. We repair Blombach Spindles to original factory performance with a full warranty. We have 26 years of experience repairing spindles.
One of our customers operates over a dozen Blombach spindles for a special balancing process. Because the spindles are used for balancing, HST must balance the spindles to an order of magnitude better. No problem HST experts regularly perform precision high speed balancing.
Shortly after acquiring this customer HST noticed a reoccurring failure mode of the collet actuation mechanism. A steel collar translated over a steel shaft; steel on steel with no lubrication. After about a year this mechanism would fail do to galling. We received about 4 or 5 spindles a year with that mode of failure. The customer was aware of the design short coming and was willing to pay HST to repair these failures. However, we saw an opportunity to save our customer money and improve their production.
Our engineers designed a modification to the steel collar that included an impregnated bronze bushing. Although we still receive Blombach spindles to repair, not one of them has been a result of a problem with the collet actuation mechanism. Sure we don’t get as much business as we used to. But making our customer’s problem our problem is part of the service we provide at HST.
So if you have a spindle problem or just a question, why not give us a call. We answer the phone.
